Dragon Quest V Hand of The Heavenly Bride Review

This series of DQ-5 series for NDS, after the previous version for the PS 2 does not have a U.S. version. Surely this is good news for fans of DQ series, let alone before the SE also has Dragon Quest IV remake the U.S. version, which also cater for NDS. Seri2 Like previous DQ, DQ V is one of the J-RPG that is still faithful carrying the old style RPG, a world where castles, kings, princess, dragon and knight was still alive.

Design characters and monsters are still held by the maestro Akira Toriyama-sensei. Not much different from DQ VII (PSX) and DQ IV (NDS), the engine in use still remains the same, the same goes with the battle system that still uses the style 3rd person perspective with 2D graphics. But the animated movement of the enemy has been updated, more flexible and are 3D. Also now we can also see thumbnail images of the character of our party members on the NDS screen (at least far better than nothing at all like the original version and DQ VII)

Then what is the uniqueness of this old school RPG games that get high scores from sites overseas games (famous stingy in giving scores to the J-RPG)?

Story

One of the unique DQ V is a very good storyline, I tell you, for 40 hours of normal gameplay, we'll play as a "Hero" (Another silent protagonist that we can give a name to it so the game begins) from since she was little, until adult and married, so the outline, the game is divided into 3 generations: Small Hero, Hero Hero who has married and now have to have adult children.
Yes,,, we can get married in this game, and guess what? there are 3 options which female characters we can choose to become wives. Indeed, whoever our choice, who will have no effect on our children later in the 3rd generation, as well as we can not do this Female in 3 women will marry before deciding which one ... (Well, This Is not Harvet moon However,,,), series however, the 3rd woman has its own dialogue and as well as magic and stat each of these three we choose to use them in battle later. Oh,,, when the 3rd generation, we can also include our 2 children ("son " and "daughter" with the default name: "Parry" and "Mädchen ') as a party member.

Gameplay
In addition, there is a feature that will make the most solid gameplay hours so they swell up to hundreds of hours, Monster Taming. Yes, in DQ V we can catch any monsters, and use them as a party member in battle. There are more than 30 monsters that we can keep the monster Farm belongs to us (if the quota has been exceeded 30, then we must remove one of the monsters long before entering a new monster). Some monsters have magic and stat that even exceeds our human character, so it is necessary to recruit. But, not all monsters can be easily caught. The higher the level we are and the more often we fight with the monster in question, the greater our chance of capturing them.
