Age of Empires: The Age of Kings is a turn-based. As a derivative of Age of Empires series, another game that real-time strategy as opposed to turn-based strategy, the Age of King incorporates several features and mechanics are generally associated with real-time strategy, including technological advances and resources and building management.
Field is divided into a grid, with players who have the overhead perspective of the map. Each unit has movement, attack, defense, range of vision and values. Some units may have additional defensive bonuses against certain types of enemy units or capabilities.
There are many variables that must be considered before fighting the enemy. Before entering battle, the game will display the stats of both units, consisting of points of health units' attack power and defensive ability.
