Story
Early Tournament Mode has Shrek Gingy and compete in the breath-holding contests. Out of nowhere, Donkey enters the scene with wand Fairy God Mother. Donkey use a stick to change some things differently in karts like a snail into swamp animals and the Dragon becomes a smaller version of himself. The character then hop into their karts and off for fierce competition and race.
Gameplay
Shrek Smash and Crash plays video games like any other kart. The players must first choose from a line-up of thirteen different characters from the Shrek universe. The maximum number of racers on the track is six. Each character has specific stats that are not displayed in the game. Every non-human drivers will be controlled by a computer and randomly selected. After the driver is selected then the player has the option to choose a track or cup tournament they want to play. After the selected track, the race will begin. The purpose of the race is to win in the first place. On the track barrel items that contain items in them. Item is used as an advantage to help the racers out. The track is also full of obstacles and short-cuts that can either help or harm the rider. On the track, the character also has special items that can be used to attack other karts or barriers. If other drivers exposed to particular goods then they will spin out. The character can also jump to avoid obstacles or reach other parts of the track. Drivers who win first place in both the tournament mode or normal race it to the trophy.

* Shrek - Shrek is one of four drivers who will be open from the beginning. Shrek Swamp Kart is the Donkey Beast made using the Fairy God Mother stick in snails. Shrek personal items are wooden clubs (weapons).
