Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja Review

European box art

Story
Izuna and her ninja clan looking for a place to settle down after their old master decided that ninjas Mugen is obsolete, and booted them from his palace. After arriving at an appropriate village out of the way to "Grandboss" them, Gen-An, they decide to stay at an inn when Grandboss wander off.

When trying to find Grandboss, Izuna managed to offend the god of the village, and everyone in the area began acting strangely. Now Izuna must go down to the various temples of the gods in order to set things right.

Gameplay
Izuna is a prison crawler game with random dungeons, like the Mystery Dungeon series. In the basement, the gameplay is effectively turn-based, with the monsters in the dungeon to get to move or attack every time Izuna move tiles or take action. If Izuna should get KO'ed in a dungeon, a passerby would bring back to the village, but he will lose all items and money he holds, except for equipment with Kikan talisman attached to it. However, after completing the first dungeon, players can store items and money in a warehouse, which enables storage of backup weapons and items in the case of Izuna is KO'ed. These features combine to give the feel roguelike game, albeit with modern graphics.

Izuna group

Izuna
A girl of 16 who was born and raised as Kunoichi. He was stubborn, and often do not listen to others. Izuna trip with the rest of the clan recently unemployed, Gen-An, Shino, and Mitsumoto (whom he called his slave).

Shino
Izuna a girl who looks up to like a brother. More on the short side than Izuna angry but kind at heart, as read in the comics on the official site. Called by Izuna as Shino-Sis (or Shino-oneechan in Japanese). Also has the dubious honor as the DS 'first flat-chested character ", according to official U.S. site.

Gen-An
Earlier the leader of their ninja village, but now only the leader of their group are unemployed ninja. Others in the group only refer to him as "Grandboss".

Mitsumoto
The last member of the group, Izuna did not treat him with any thing, especially since he does not stand up for herself and does not seem to have a real ninja abilities. His skirt-chasing tendencies may do nothing to improve self-esteem in the eyes of Izuna.
