Jake Hunter Review
Story
The first game of the series, Shinjuku Chuo Koen Satsujin Jiken (新宿 中央 公园 杀人 事件, Shinjuku Central Park Murder Mystery) Released in 1987 by Data East for the Family Computer Disk System. Many sequels have been released since then, and the series marks its 20th anniversary in 2007 with the release of new titles for the Nintendo DS. According to Enterbrain, the franchise has sold more than 2.22 million copies in total, making it one of the longest standing and best-selling adventure game series in the history of Japanese origin.
Character
The main characters of the series is Jake Hunter (known in Japan as Jingūji Saburo (神宫 寺 三郎, Saburo Jingūji?)), A private detective 32 years operated a detective agency in Aspicio, United States (Shinjuku, Tokyo on the Japanese version). He was born as the third child of wealthy business owners, and went to New York during his youth working as an assistant detective. He was a heavy smoker, and often assemble his thoughts while smoking a cigarette Marlboro. According to the in-game profile, favorite alcoholic drink his cognac, and he drives a green Mini Cooper.
Other recurring characters include: Yulia Marks (known in Japan as Yoko Misono (御苑 洋子, Misono Yoko)?), Assistant Jake, and Scott Kingsley (known in Japan as Sanzo Kumano (熊 野 参 造, Kumano Sanzō)?), Inspector of police Aspicio.
Voice
Voice acting was first used in a certain game scenes in the fifth installment, Mikan no RUPO (未完 の ルポ, reportage Unfinished?), And has been applied in all subsequent releases, not including those released as mobile phone applications. The character was voiced by Yukimasa Jingūji Kishino, Akio Otsuka, and Jūrōta Kosugi. Another important voice actors used include Fumihiko Tachiki (Sanzō Kumano), Kōji Ishii (Sanzō Kumano), Masaaki Tsukada (Sanzō Kumano), and Fumiko Orikasa (Yoko Misono).
